Who we are
About Me
I’m Austin Pitman, founder of Pitman Safety Solutions and a trusted partner for municipalities, emergency services, and industrial clients across Ontario. With over a decade of frontline and regulatory experience — including time as a Ministry of Labour Industrial Inspector — I specialize in helping organizations build strong, compliant, and practical health and safety programs.
My credentials include NFPA 1521 Health & Safety Officer, instructor certifications, and extensive work developing and leading Joint Health & Safety Committees, confined space entry programs, firefighter rehabilitation protocols, and emergency response procedures. I’ve trained and advised fire departments, public works teams, and private sector clients, always focusing on realistic solutions grounded in legislation and best practices.
At Pitman Safety Solutions, I offer hands-on consulting with a clear goal: to protect your people, your operations, and your reputation. From policy development to incident investigations, I bring the insight and integrity you need to meet today’s safety standards — and tomorrow’s challenges.

The Story Behind Truckladders Inc.
Truckladders Inc. was born from experience — and a hard fall.
Inventor Jeff Pitman was no stranger to hard work. Like many in the trades and transport industries, he regularly climbed onto trailers, flatbeds, and equipment without a second thought. But one day, a misstep changed everything. Jeff fell off his own trailer while trying to climb down, suffering injuries that were preventable — if only the right equipment had been there.
That’s when he realized: there had to be a better, safer way.
Determined to make sure no one else would go through what he did, Jeff began designing a ladder that could provide secure, reliable access to trailers of all kinds. It had to be sturdy, portable, and meet North American safety standards — and most importantly, it had to keep workers safe.
From that vision, Truckladders Inc. was founded.
Today, our ladders are proudly designed and built in Canada, featuring lightweight aluminum construction, CSA-, OSHA-, and ANSI-compliant safety features, and multiple mounting options for any work environment. Whether you're in construction, transport, or agriculture, Truckladders has your back — helping you get up safely and get home safely.
At Truckladders Inc., we're not just building ladders. We're preventing falls, protecting lives, and solving the problems others overlook — one trailer at a time.

-Randi Anderson, Founder
After founding, growing and ultimately selling a successful Health and Safety training organization I could not suppress my burning desire to stay integrated into the protection of human safety and wellness. No doubt my 31 year career as a Toronto Firefighter contributed significantly to that on going “sense of duty”.
When the global pandemic weighed heavy over our world many clients reached out for guidance or in some cases, just to talk. These conversations served to reignite my drive to step back up in support of workplace safety and wellness, both the physical and the mental. In late 2021, I proudly formed New World Safety to act as my vehicle to carry forward that passion. Trust New World Safety to guide, protect and support your organization in an ever evolving and seemingly more complex new world.
Your workplace family are an extension of my own!
